Build Back Confidence

The pandemic saw schools shutting which led to a drastic shift to virtual education delivery. While some students will be able to catch up with the lost learning time, there will be lasting effects for specifically one category. Marginalized girl children.

A Global health crisis has caused a decline in the number of girl children studying at school. They have dropped out of schools and if we don’t learn from the way Ebola Crisis affected the vulnerable population, the effects could be dire. Keeping this in mind, the Ranjitsinh Disale Foundation presents the initiative ‘Bring Back Confidence’.

Our sister organisation, Quality Education Foundation, has proposed this project in one of Maharashtra’s district. The aim for Ranjitsinh Disale Foundation is to implement it across the nation, and also spread it to Vietnam, South Africa and Nigeria too.

The idea behind the initiative is to help girls regain the confidence of studying at home, and helping them with the resources to do so. Girls in rural areas don’t have access to most resources because of a lack of technological tools, internet availability, electrical supply among other reasons.

METHODOLOGY

With the aid of government agencies, we hope to rehabilitate girl children and help them catch up with the education they lost out on during the COVID-19 pandemic. The proposed plan is implemented over 32 weeks with 40 sessions.

Teacher Training :

Program facilitators are trained before hand

Content Accessibility and Intervention:

Till physical learning at school resumes, a Mobile Van with a Technical assistant and teachers will travel to the location once a week. Each week, they will deliver a session with students.

Enabling School for Content Accessibility:

Once the school opens, sessions will be conducted using the digital infrastructure available in school.

Performance Monitoring:

At regular frequency, the performance of students will be studied pre and post the program.

This plan will be tailored to every city, or country where the BBC initiative will bring students together by giving them a platform and an opportunity to not lose out on education. Every child deserves to learn and have access to knowledge. Through these efforts, the interest of the girl children in gaining knowledge can be sustained and help create an impact on their lives.
