RETHINKING TECHNOLOGY FOR THE FUTURE
BACKGROUND
As the world grapples with a pandemic, the ones who suffered before suffer even more. This is when educators like Ranjitsinh Disale are the saviors of the entire ecosystem. His time spent in teacher-training college changed his life as he realized teachers fuel the change in the World. His first school building was in a very poor condition, with little to no importance given to education for girl children. Zilla Parishad Primary School in India was where he first proved his merit. He introduced QR Coded textbooks, virtual field trips to overcome the loss of practical learning during the pandemic and launched a program focused on peace. Before he became the first Indian to win the Global Teacher Prize in 2020, he was already transforming lives. This win has given him the fuel he needed, and led to the birth of Ranjitsinh Disale Foundation.WHO WE ARE
The Foundation is a partnership between Ranjitsinh Disale and 9 other Global Teacher Prize finalists. For the first time ever, a winner has parted with 50% of the Prize Money of 1 million USD to the 9 other participants. Ranjitsinh Disale made this decision so that he could unite with changemakers across the Globe and work towards a borderless classroom.
Their goal is to use this historic turning point as fuel for change by turning to technology.
The Foundation believes that every child has a right to learn, and wishes to equip them with the right tools. With these efforts, we hope that these children look at their present with fondness, their past with acceptance and their future with eagerness. This time has made it all the more evident that to feel empowered, we must come together and carry on with a new thought process.
